Craft. Connect. Repeat.
What is Purls and Pints?
Purls and Pints is a welcoming fiber arts group based in Milwaukee, WI. We gather weekly - most often in the cozy corners of Irish pubs around the city - to knit, crochet, chat, laugh, and simply enjoy each other’s company. Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or just curious, you’re always welcome here.
Why meet in pubs?
We love the tradition of crafting in community, and pubs offer the perfect mix of warmth, comfort, and camaraderie. There’s a beautiful history of people gathering in pubs, especially in places like Ireland, to knit and connect. We’re lucky to have several Irish pubs in Milwaukee that have generously opened their doors to us.
What if I don't drink?
No worries at all! Many of us choose non-alcoholic options, and there's absolutely no pressure to drink. Our meetups are about the stitching and the socializing, not what’s in your glass.
Who can join?
Anyone and everyone! We’re an inclusive, friendly group that welcomes all backgrounds and skill levels. If you value kindness, creativity, and community, you’ll fit right in.
Do I need to know how to knit or crochet to join?
Not at all. We love helping beginners get started! Bring your curiosity and some supplies, and we’ll do our best to guide you, but if there’s a large group of new folks, we ask for a little patience.
I'm a beginner. What should I bring?
We recommend a skein of worsted weight yarn in a light or bright color (easier to see your stitches!) and a pair of knitting needles or a crochet hook in the size suggested on the yarn label. That’s all you need to begin your fiber arts journey!
